Environmental Commitment
Environmental issues surrounding the entire wood products industry have been a hotbed of contention and debate in recent years. As a secondary manufacturer of hardwood products, we are an associate member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA). As such, we believe in and endorse the sustainable forestry principles and definitions that have been thoughtfully established by the association. These principles can be found at the association's web site. For further information, please visit them at www.natlhardwood.org.

Additionally, Meyer Moulding & Millwork, Inc. is a participant in the American Forest & Paper Association's Sustainable Forestry Initiative program. The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) program is a comprehensive system of principles, objectives and performance measures that integrates the perpetual growing and harvesting of trees with the protection of wildlife, plants, soil, and water quality. Simply stated, it's working with nature to ensure the future of our forests for our children and grandchildren. And it's based on the premise that responsible environmental practices and sound business practices can be integrated to the benefit of landowners, shareholders, customers and the people they serve.

While we at Meyer Moulding are not presently forest land owners, do not have long-term lease lands, and do not source material directly from the forest, we endorse and promote the principles and objectives of the SFI program and adhere to the specific objectives that apply to us as a secondary manufacturer of wood products. For more information about the Sustainable Forestry Initiative program, please visit their website at www.aboutsfi.org.
